so im going to find all my ticket stubbs. organize them and then post them onto this blog. its going to be a long and hard task. but very memorable.

U2 - this time in tampa

Before the show my friends and I met up at 4 green fields (but lots of others had the same idea)
so we got a bit of good irish cheer in us and then made it to the ice palace....
this time loreen and I were Way up on the 3rd level, this provided a whole different prespective of the show. we could watch the lights on the floor! and all the effects! and the screens! and the crowd!
the crowd was good, the set list was great (i think much better than the chicago show) and less political than chicago. but i was hoping it would of been just as politically charged. tampa needs that kick in the ass that only Bono can deliver.

journey and not steve perry

the opening band for journey was journey and they sucked.
'not steve perry' was awsome
and i think the rest of the band resented the fact that he could sing like steve perry and they couldent.
- this was my first show at the "ford-clearchannel-ampitheater"

Foo Fighters and Weezer

so, big show at the ice palace...I was very excited to see weezer, i like old weezer.
the show was good, would of been a better show in a small venue, but really what can you do....
we were down on the floor, and the investment for earplugs really paid off....

i had always heard that the foo fighters were good. but they wernt just good, they Rocked!
i have to say its one of the few true rock shows ive been to in a LONG time... and it was worth it.
Loud. very Loud. but dave g. was amazing.....

odd show, middle of the week, rode to orlando with friends....
it was a taping for Hard Rock Live - a show on mtv
so before the show, they did all these cheezy crowd shots with the lights on...
the crowd, not that great.... cheeze. but it was orlando....
they were awsome, the new songs were good too. which is always wierd... cause most of the time they suck.

there was a cute british family to my right, and 2 scottish girls infont of me.... they really enjoyed the show.

Snow Patrol Weekend...

A big weekend was planned for memorial day weekend (as it should be)
Friday afternoon, i ducked out of town a bit early to beat I-4 traffic. and enjoyed dinner at the cheesecake fact. with friends. then Loreen and I headed over to the Hob for a good show. minus the loud girls whom i told to shusshhh. and when i did so, i made them feel even younger than they were. ha! (im getting too old for bad crowds)

so the show was great. very open and fun. Athlete opened and did a great version of WIRES!
pretty blue lights. very sad, very good
overall i was more impressed with Athlete than with Snow Patrol.

So this was a TRIP!
a wonderful weekend. Loreen got tickets for Chicago (thank you central time zone!) and since we had never been to chicago, we decided to go. the city was amazing, everyone we met was great. we saw the sites and the architecture... then got ready for the show saturday night.
some VERY nice lady from cleveland was on the bus, asking if anyone needed tickets.... she had extra FLOOR tickes that she wanted to sell for face value... so I asked loreen to see if she would trade for our 3rd level 102$ tickets for the 54$ floor tickets. She said OK! being a bit cautious, we did it anyway. and there we were on the floor. with real tickets.

John Denver Groupies.

So one friday night, my friend Loreen's parents offered us John Denver tickets. This being an excellent opportunity to have a picnic in Metropolotian Park, we just had to say yes. Loreen even bailed on a date with a guy named Tim from the swim team.
So were set up, have the blanket, cheese and other goodies to snack on... and then we hear
"JOHN...WE...LOVE...YOU"
behind us... 3 large women with coke bottle glasses and long scraggly hair were singing and screeming to John. funny thing. we were atleast half way back in the field. i dont think john heard their cries of devotion. 4/2/1992

its about 89-90 and I wanted to go and see "the Party"
these were the 5 kids from the new mickey mouse club who had this band....
they were opening for Taylor Dane at Metropolotian Park in Jacksonville.
not too eventfull. except i was slighlty ashamed i was there to see "the party"

I begged and begged my mom to send off the cupon from the paper that would get us the tickets. and she did and they were on the orange fridge for months! I don't remember much. it was cold, and our seats were at the TOP of the Gator Bowl in Jacksonville. we could watch the limos drive in and out, better than we could see the stage. the jumbo screens (were they actually jumbotrons back then...) didnt work till half way through the show. my friend suzanne whom i took was scared and hid behind the seats when they were dressed up like monsters.
